As part of the ongoing activities of the Association of Employers in FBiH on changes and amendments to fiscal regulations, i.e. the Law on Contributions, the Law on Income Tax and the Law on Profit Tax, a consultative meeting was held on June 12, 2023 in Mostar.

The meeting was attended by a large number of representatives of economic entities from Canton 10, West Herzegovina and Herzegovina-Neretva Cantons, as well as representatives of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Herzegovina.

More than seven years have passed since the preparation of the Law on Contributions and the Law on Income Tax, but unfortunately, these regulations have not been amended. This resulted in the fact that today the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has the highest burden of labor costs in Europe, and due to low standards, low wages and the generally poor position of workers, an increasing number of workers are leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this sense, the Association of Employers in the FBiH expects to start the work of a working group under the FBiH Government with the aim of preparing systemic solutions.

Consultations on establishing updated principles for the preparation of new regulations are a topic on which the Association has been actively working in recent months. Consultations in Mostar indicate that employers in all parts of FBiH are burdened with the same and similar issues and are looking for an urgent change in the situation. The association has announced the holding of several more meetings on this topic, after which the principles will be confirmed at the Management Board of UPFBiH and submitted to the authorities as the position of employers from the real sector on the issue in question.
