Europe 2020: 5 important goals
The social program of the EU is based on EU 2020 Development Strategy, with the aim of making the EU a smart, sustainable and inclusive economy capable of sustainable economic growth with more better jobs and greater social cohesion. Social development projects in BiH rest on these priorities. Europe 2020 has five ambitious goals – employment, innovation, education, social inclusion and climate/energy – to be achieved by 2020.
The three leading initiatives from the Europe 2020 strategy in the area of social development are:
- Youth on the Move, whose goal is to increase the chances of young people finding work by helping students and interns gain experience in other countries and increasing the quality and attractiveness of education and training in Europe.
- Program for new skills and jobs, the aim of which is to give fresh impetus to labor market reforms in order to acquire new skills for future jobs, create new jobs and revise European employment regulations;
- The European Platform against Poverty and Social Exclusion, which aims to encourage work at all levels to achieve the EU's goal for this area to lift at least 20 million people out of poverty and exclusion by 2020.
