Focus on the development of administrative structure and capacity
The reform of public administration with the aim of developing an adequate administrative structure and capacity in the field of consumer and health protection, in order to acquire the professionalism and skills necessary to participate in the European administrative space, and to ensure the smooth integration of the health sector in the EU, at all levels, are recognized as priorities for EU in this sector.
In addition, in the field of health statistics, it is a collaboration between all relevant parties aimed at the development of efficient and sustainable statistical systems, capable of providing comparable, reliable, objective and accurate data needed for planning and monitoring the process of transition and reform of the health sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. , in accordance with the requirements of the European Bureau of Statistics (EUROSTAT) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Assistance from the EU in this sector was provided through the PHARE and OBNOVA programs (about EUR 7.4 million), CARDS (about EUR 3.4 million), and the IPA program (about EUR 5.0 million). The IPA program is aimed at providing ongoing support for building institutional capacities, supporting the reform of the secondary health care financing system, supporting harmonization in the area of data collection in the health sector according to EUROSTAT requirements, and developing a set of health indicators for the population in accordance with European practice and requirements WHO.
